Wild Desserts: Pink Zebra Cake that Struts Out the Stripes
At the heart of every memorable celebration is a great cake; be it a beautiful wedding or an unforgettable birthday party. But what if you can make one of those awesome cakes right at home? The Pink Zebra Cake is one such delight that is awesome on so many different levels… quite literally! This delicious treat comes with stripes both on the inside and outside! Now that is a trick many of us would love to pull off.
So, how do you make the perfect Pink Zebra Cake? Well, here is a list of things that you will need to get started.
Pink Zebra Cake Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all purpose flour (300g)
- 2 cups sugar (400g)
- 4 eggs
- ¾ cups vegetable oil (188mL)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (5mL)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder (11g)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5g)
- 1 cup milk (240mL)
- White, pink, and black gel paste
- Vanilla buttercream
- Black fondant
- Pink buttercream
Once you have everything in place, it is all about dividing the batter up so that half of it can be mixed with white coloring while a quarter of it gets the black get paste while the other quarter is colored in pink. Then it is all about careful adding of each colored batter to get the right pattern, baking and decorating that involves white buttercream and black fondant.
A dash of orange instead of pink will make a great Halloween cake while beautiful scarlet red will make it perfect for Valentine’s Day!
