Earlier on recently professional photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh had been walking along the coastline of Nantucket when he noticed something strange concerning the waves crashing on shore. The high temperature had been 19°F (-7.2°C) and while the waves weren’t entirely frozen, they certainly were thick with bits of ice, similar to the consistency of the Slurpee, or an slushy, or an ICEE, or whatever. It’s amazing to see how the ice modifications the proper execution and colour of the waves, making all of them seem virtually solid. You can view a few more shots over on Stay crazy mag. You can easily follow more of Nimerfroh’s photography on Instagram. (thnx, Amber!)
